Hello Everyone and Welcome to BeginnersUnite! We're glad you decided to join us!
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask the founders and admin.
Please remember to submit to the correct folders. Just because the Featured folder is open doesn't mean everything will be accepted to it.
We still do not accept mature content.
Check out Tutorials-R-Us. Even though we have tutorials here, Tutorials-R-Us has them broken down based on what you're looking for (i.e. tutorials for eyes, hair, face, anatomy, photomanipulations, literature, backgrounds and objects, and so on...). You don't have to be a member of the group to submit a tutorial so if you have tutorials, please feel free to submit them.
1. We would love to thank you for joining BeginnersUnite! What is your favorite thing about us?
What I find the most interesting is the emphasis this group has on the "little guys" here on dA, myself included. There are so many groups where only the most uber-detailed make the cut that it's nice to see a more vast group where we can be ourselves, not so focused on our shortcomings as artists.
2. What is your favorite thing about deviantArt?
DeviantArt is an amazing place to be. Not only does it have a very large and welcoming community, in here we can show our pieces without the fear of bragging, and maybe even make a career out of what we love to do: create art.
3. What would you describe your art style as?
Plainly messy xD
4. What programs/tools do you use to create your art?
I used to work with Autodesk Sketchbook Pro, and even though it was a great starting point, Photoshop is vastly superior in almost every category, with the exception of ease of use. So, if the UI of Photoshop scares you like it did me, just power through it
5. Where would you like to improve the most (if you need to improve)?
I need (and will) improve everywhere, but female faces really are my weakest spot. Only rarely did I get something like that right, but with practice comes perfect xD
6. What is your favorite type of art?
I am starting to appreciate more abstract art, especially because I've no clue on how that damned thing is done.
7. How long have you been drawing?
For quite some time, but I deciced to take things a lot more seriously about 4 years ago.
8. Can you show us 2 of your most improved deviations and one of your older deviations?
Simply because it was with these ones that I realised that the more time I take with things, the more detailed and refined they become.
This one was back when I was still painting on my phone, couldn't even figure out how to flip it... It was that bad xD
9. Who is your favorite artist?
By far, Stjepan Sejic. Sunstone is still the best comic I've read, and you can read it here on shiniez.deviantart.com
10. What kind of artist do you want to be (if any)?
Just a happy one, who can tell interesting stories that move people. If I help people with the content I make, then I'll fulfil my life's goal.
11. Where would you wish to study art (country)?
My own, Portugal. Nasci Português, hei-de morrer Português! xD
12. Do you have any thing you would like to say to fellow artists?
Never, ever, give up. We can never know what the future will bring, but if we give up we know for sure that nothing good can come out of that. Push through the difficulties, we all know you can do it.
Thanks so much everyone for sharing your talent with us. Have a great weekend (or week depending on when you're reading this)!
