:star: REMINDERS: :star:

:bulletred: Just to remind you all of our rules-
:pointr: No mature content
:pointr: No base art
:pointr: Limited submissions to the Featured folder.
I'm still seeing some mature content and base art being submitted for review so I just want to remind you all that it's not accepted. As for the featured folder, if I notice your submissions are only to the featured folder (as a majority-not just one or two people) I will just close it completely so please make sure you are still submitting to the other folders (if it is one or two people I will limit the submissions to one deviation a month for the folder).
:bulletorange: We are still looking for new questions for our MotM and suggestions for our monthly Exercise. Note us or comment with any suggestions.
:bulletyellow: Don't forget about the monthly exercises. I will leave links to the journals listing previous exercises in the Exercise section of this journal. THESE ARE NOT REQUIRED! They're here just in case if you want a challenge.

:star: EXERCISE: :star:
If you choose to participate, you do not have to share your drawing but we hope you choose to share them with us. You can submit your exercises to the Exercise folder.

This month's challenge is to draw a building in perspective. It can be any building (or buildings) but draw it in perspective with detail. Your choice of 1,2, or 3 point perspective. If you need assistance, please contact the admin and/or look through our Perspective folder.

Previous Exercises--Located under the "Exercise" section.
October - "Redraw This"
December- "Winter Wonderland"

Congrats :iconcerulione: Cerulione

1. We would love to thank you for joining BeginnersUnite! What is your favorite thing about us?
You accept beginners of all level. Many beginners do not have a space where they can showcase their works and often get feedback. That helps a lot.

2. What is your favorite thing about deviantArt?
You can literally find anything here! People of all level, original arts, fanarts, arts about anything. Writings, comics, drawings, photography. It is refreshing to see different things each time.

3. What would you describe your art style as?
I do not really have a style yet, except that probably I love deep colour and less saturated ones... :)

4. What programs/tools do you use to create your art?
I always started with Col-Erase & HB & 2B pencil on paper. Then the whole thing get scanned and lined & coloured digitally using a Wacom Intuos tablet & Paint Tool SAI. Usually last retouch in Photoshop CS5.

5. Where would you like to improve the most (if you need to improve)?
Anatomy, dynamic of movements, and colours. Also composition.

6. What is your favorite type of art?
I love both visual arts and music and storytelling, so animation is my fave since it has all these elements

7. How long have you been drawing?
A year now.

8. Can you show us 2 of your most improved deviations and one of your older deviations?
I erased regularly old drawings that I am not very fond of so well...

A few of my first drawing attempts:
The latest one:
Dragonborn of Ferelden by Cerulione What Lies Within by Cerulione

9. Who is your favorite artist?
Professional one: Matt Rhodes, James Gurney, Glenn Keane
Non Professional One:

10. What kind of artist do you want to be (if any)?
I'd love to do concept artists for fantasy or animator :D

11. Where would you wish to study art (country)?

12. Do you have any thing you would like to say to fellow artists?
Just a few tips from my drawing class:
1. Always think of volume and not lines. Inertia and movements depends on the mass.
2. Keep it up!!

Again, congrats to our MotM! Thank you all for reading, and as always if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions please feel free to see me (sketch7778) or note the group! We're here to help.

Welcome to BeginnersUnite! I'm glad to have you here :icongrin--plz:
Even though this group is geared more towards beginners and helping us grow, we will gladly accept anyone who would like to join!

Thank you! by ayame18 Thank you to all of you who allow us to use your wonderful tutorials!

1. Be respectful: If you don't like something don't look, there is no need for you to be rude to other artists.

2. No Mature Content: As you all know, we no longer accept mature content. This includes excessive blood and gore and nudity. The only nudity allowed is in our anatomy section, if it's not an anatomy lesson or reference then it's not permitted in the group.

3. No BASE Art: This group is all about bettering your art skill so from now on, we do not allow base art. Try taking a look at our anatomy folder or ask any of the contributors if you need help with anatomy.

:new:4. No Advertising on the Main Page: I have been noticing this popping up lately but we have several ways for you to be advertised in our group.
:pointr: Submit a journal to the journal folder
:pointr: Note the group or an admin and we will add your information to the main page where everyone can see.
Please do not advertise contests or commissions in the comments area. Comments will be hidden.

Since it's a problem we seem to constantly run into, submissions have been limited to 5 a day per folder. Please remember, we are manually accepting submissions and when you upload your entire gallery, it floods our inbox. Not to mention the inbox of watchers once they are accepted. We will always welcome your art, just be mindful that we are not robots.

If you need a better example let me know, I'll note you with examples of both the base and the base art that way there's no mentions and no backlash.

Sure :) Not stupid, there's a lot of people who've asked me this question and there was a point in time where I didn't know what it was either.

Base art:
You take a base (such as pretty much anything found on this page ---… I would just put a thumb here but when I do that it mentions it to the artist and I seem to get a lot of flack for mentioning their bases.

But you take anything that looks similar to one of those then draw clothes, hair, etc. to customize it to whatever you want basically. It's like making a customized doll. I know that some may use it for practice with drawing clothes but it's not allowed here (you can do it if you want but you can't submit it to the group).
